Azucena Del Carmen Portillo

Azucena Portillo earned her B.A. in Public Policy from the College of William & Mary in 2016 and her J.D. from LMU Loyola Law School in 2022, where she participated in the Civil Rights Litigation Practicum and served as a legal fellow with Public Counsel’s Center for Veterans’ Advancement, assisting veterans with discharge upgrade petitions and related advocacy matters.

Before joining Hurrell-LLP, Azucena worked on employment, civil rights, personal injury, and family law matters and developed substantial experience in written and oral advocacy. Her background includes dispositive and pre-trial motion practice, deposition preparation, discovery, court appearances, and case strategy in matters pending in court and arbitration.

Azucena is admitted to practice before all California state courts and all federal district courts in California. She is fluent in English and Spanish. Outside of work, she enjoys long-distance running, tending to her houseplants, spending time with family, and practicing painting in a variety of mediums.
